ZORRO INITIATIVE
Zorro is an organization I formed to help people and communities who face food insecurities—by providing dignified assistance that acknowledges their presence, humanity, and soul. Why Zorro? During the COVID crisis, One day, as I was helping to offload food boxes at a local food pantry, a bystander asked one of our volunteers assisting me who I was. The volunteer responded, "Zorro." I asked her why she called me "Zorro." She replied, “You are wearing an all-black outfit and a black mask, and that's what came to me.” She added, "What difference does it make who you are? Giving and fulfilling a need you are inspired to do should not require bright lights or public announcements." The outfit I wore to support a food pantry led to the name “Zorro” and the logo. All black outfit (black jeans - black T-shirt - black hat - black mask) and a giving heart. Even in our dark moments, G-d is always there. Suppose you are interested in joining or supporting us.
